Sacramento Smooth - Coming May 19th!

Utopian Dreams is pleased to be coming to Sacramento, California on May 19th. The club, Shenanigans Jazz on J, has been keen on supporting independent regional jazz artists. This is remarkable because live music venues have been disappearing during these tough economic times. This will be a special show for a number of reasons. Rumor has it the Sacramento's own independent smooth jazz artist, Cecil Ramirez will be on keys with Utopian Dreams.GMichael and Pat were at NAMM 2010 show with sponsor Cecil and his special endorsed artist, Brian Culbertson, where discussions for some smooth collaborations where held. We are happy to say this show will finally give Utopian Dreams to chance to groove with this "off the hook" artist.
Also, another special treat will be the two "saxy ladies" of jazz, playing together for the first time.

First, our own Susan Copperman -

With roots in Stan Getz, and the infectious melodies and funky grooves of Richard Elliot, Susan is a female powerhouse on the tenor and alto sax. You don't want to miss her intense soul based urban jazz inflections. Susan is a definite rising star in contemporary jazz and we are proud to have her a our melodic soloist in Utopian Dreams..

Then, Sacramento's own Ava Lemert, who will open the show -

The singing saxtress, Ava is three artists in one woman - an expressive vocalist, passionate saxophonist and soulful songwriter. Ava deftly fuses elements of classic soul and jazz.

So come join us for some serious fun and groovin' at Shenanigans Jazz on J. Remember May 19th at 6:00pm. Just click on the Jazz on J widget link for directions and other info on the club...See you there with the emotional power and rhythmic energy of Utopian Dreams and our special friends!
